I found this while browsing RYM lists and decided to give it a listen. It's just too peculiar for me not to look. This is the soundtrack to the famous creepypasta game Sonic.exe. Also likely the most famous creepypasta game. I was never big in the creepypasta scene when it was a thing. I just wasn't that interested in that stuff. I remember reading the Lavender Town ones and I loved the lavender town theme even if it creeped out some people. 

The original creepypasta of Sonic.exe was written by MY5TCrimson who would go on to develop it into a full game. Well, it is a complete game, but the entire run takes circa 10 minutes. Props to him for going out of his way to actually make the story a reality. 

I haven't played the game, nor do I have much to say on it. I did listen to the soundtrack though. I doubt most people have thought about the kind of music that goes into a creepypasta, but this is a good look. A lot of the music is borrowed from other sources. Silent Hill and Earthbound in particular have songs here. Two of the tracks are originally composed, one by Kyu Sawamura and one by MY5TCrimson. The music is depressive and dark with some industrial and straight dark ambient parts. The best song is the one from Kyu Sawamura (aka Kyu.S). Sawamura's track is a remix of the Green Hill Zone but made to sound way more ominous and depressive. It's an excellent remix. 

Since working on the game he has gone on to work on a new title, called Shroud. It's a survival horror game that takes place in a massive library. There are two versions of the soundtrack below. There is the first version on KHInsider that was posted last year. It is where the soundtrack first originated. 

In the SnowBlue version I tagged it so the artist title is MY5TCrimson and the individual tracks not composed by him are credited in the titles of each song. This is to stop it from appearing as multiple albums if you load it up in MusicBee, WinAMP or whatever player you use. The SnowBlue version also has missing metadata filled in (genres, year, etc).
